Northern region of Nepal is perhaps the prime trekking and mountain climbing destination in the world. This is the land of Mt Everest, the world's tallest peak and other mountains.
A special permit is required for some remote destinations such as upper Mustang trekking, Dolpo trekking, Kanchenjunga trekking etc.
