Red rice with varieties of curry is major Bhutanese food. Aema dasi (chilly with cottage cheese), Kewa dasi (Potatoes with cheese), mushroom curry, Jashma Maro (chicken cooked with Bhutanese style), Fing curry (rice noodle curry) are some of Bhutanese curries. Most restaurants in Bhutan offer the standard Chinese and Indian food. International cuisine is limited. |

| There are more restaurants in the capital Thimpu, and southern town of Phuentsholing. Meals are served buffet style so the decision on what to order is taken care off. It is generally safe to eat out in the major restaurants but avoid fresh salad if you are concerened. Drink only bottled water. |

Suja ( butter tea ) is favorite drink in Bhutan, which is a great way to warm you up on cold nights. There is also the local brew called Arra ( distilled from rice, barley or wheat ). Locally porduced beer and whiskey also available. |
