MUSTANG: A district in Dhaulagiri Zone, west Nepal. The district extends to the Inner Himalayan Range. Mustang is the country's least rainy place since it lies in the rain-shadow of the Nepal Himalayas. It covers area of 3673 sq km. A region of unspoiled beauty, it has been open to outside tourists only since 1995, there continues to be strict limits placed on the numbers of tourists permitted yearly.

Mustange Raja ( King )
The title given to the Raja ( king ) of Mustang, who was the de facto administrator of Mustang until 1953. The Raja now holds the honorary title only. Mustange Raja is also known by his people as Lo-Pembu or Manthang-Pembu. He has his capital at Lo-Mangthang where there is a palace.

Lopa
A people of upper Kali Gandaki Region in Mustang district. They traditionally engaged in Trans Himalayan trade. They observe Buddhism. Lopa implies to the inhabitants of Lo, a part of the high Tibetan plateau in the rain shadow of the Himalayas in Mustang District in Nepal.

Himalayas . The air is thin here. The average altitude is around 15000 ft.
